Thanks for the response to my question about the healthy church. Here are some of the thoughts that I really liked. You wrote that in your mind a healthy church is a place where . . .
- "Believers in Christ treat others as Jesus would, accepting, encouraging, and desiring to live in the truth of Scripture."
- "There is strong and clear leadership that is able to defend the fundamentals of the teachings of God clearly and lovingly to the people without wavering to cater to societal trends and personal preference."
- "People support each other, treat each other as family, do not judge, serve together as the hands and feet of Christ, pray deeply and fervently, and understand the humblest message.. that each and every one of us are broken."
So here's another question. Wouldn't it be right to think that the kind of church we've described would draw believers in droves because it was such a healthy congregation? Said another way - do you think the church we've described would quickly turn into a large "happening" church? Share your thoughts with me . . .
