Dear God the Father,I've walked with you for many years now, and though we've had to work through some tough times and some very difficult questions, I really don't have a lot of complaints about You, your Son, or your Spirit. But you know what Father? I do have concerns (which is "church-speak" for "I'm pissed") about your followers. What's up with your people? Why do I so often find myself apologizing to unbelievers for the hurts and slights committed against them by believers and by churches? Time and time again I hear horror stories of mistreatment, and outright misrepresentation of who you are as God and I just cringe. Time and time again I have to say, "I'm so sorry, not all believers are like that and I definitely know Jesus is not like that," or I have to say, "I'm so sorry that you were told that about God. That's not the God I read about in the bible." Really!? Is this the kind of conversation you want me to be having with unbelievers? Are you okay with the mistreatment your people have inflicted on those who are lost? Are you okay with the misrepresentation of your character? When are you going to do something about these people who call themselves "your people"?And another thing Father . . .
