The first truth God taught me when I faced my own limitations comes straight from Isaiah 40: 28. Isaiah described reality when he wrote: “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.” During the process of sabbath renewal we inevitably hit a wall where we discover how little we know, but also discover (or re-discover) the one who does know with an “understanding no one can fathom.” We live so much of our life believing that our security is based on our ability to access the answers. Our security doesn’t actually rest on what we know, but in the fact that we are loved by, and relentlessly pursued by, the God who knows all, and is willing to share His knowledge with us.
