Certain Reservations

“Unless” is the word we use when we don’t understand something, don’t have enough evidence, or we’re afraid to trust a person or thing.  When we don’t understand something we say, “Unless you draw me a diagram, I won’t understand what you’re trying to tell me.”  When we don’t have enough evidence, we say “Unless I get more evidence, I will remain unconvinced.”  When we’re afraid to trust someone we say, “Unless you prove to me that you can be trusted, I will have a hard time trusting you.” Every one of us hold on to an “unless” or two when it comes to God.  Unless God makes things clearer, gives us more evidence, or somehow makes it easier to trust Him we all carry certain reservations about Him. How would you complete this sentence? "God, unless you . . ."
